Have a look at the summary update parameters and these settings when you batch invoice. Basically yes.

Periodic - Invoice.

That is all, assuming you have set the summary update parameters or you alter them during the process - look at the other tab during invoicing and bring in a selected number of invoices for one customer and invoice them.
