Hi,

I am wanting to setup timesheets in AX 2012 but wanting to know if this option is possible to do:

  • 1 timesheet per employee per month
  • Create a timesheet based on projects
  • Able to create once a month
  • Enter total number of hours per project per month

I have currently setup timesheets but these have to be inputted daily with the amount of hours per project per day/week

I am not wanting this I am wanting the ability for an individual to create 1 timesheet and enter the total number of hours they have spent on a project over that month?

Is there anything that can be done with timesheet periods?

Yes, you can create timesheets for the employee on monthly periods. All you need to do is create a period code of Frequency= Month and attach this period code to your desired employee. You can find this on the worker details form=> Project management tab=> Project setup button. Make sure to generate both employee and timesheet periods for this period code.

Hi,

This is how I have done it currently but even by using this period code it forces you to work on a daily basis by entering the number of hours spent that day on that project, I dont want this I just want to enter it once that month the number of hours spent on that project in the whole month.

Yes, that is how the standard system works as far as I know. You need to customize according to your requirement here in this case I guess.

  • 1 timesheet per employee per month (Yes, this can be done. Go to Project management and account parameters > timesheet > maximum number of timesheet per period to 1).

  • Create a timesheet based on project. (Yes this can be done, by making the project field in Timesheet as Mandatory)

  • Able to create once a month. (Yes, this is also possible)

  • Enter total number of hours per project per month (This will need customization)
