Time delay?

Hi, has anyone made such an experience: when the users logon on different PC’s and are looking for the inventory for a certain item, they get different results and the item ledger entries are updated (on the ‘wrong’ PC) afet 5 minutes? This time delay can be seen for different processes. Is this a ‘server-problem’?

First I’m thinking to : flowfilter some forms save the last filtering and also the flowfilter. Be sure that there are no flowfilters set.

Hi I had such a (similar) problem some years ago. Another user told me he had posted a sales order (delivery & invoice). The order should be deleted during this process. But I still saw the order on my screen (with close/open form)[xx(]. Then I logged out and in. And- the order wasn’t on my screen anymore. I asked our NSC whats wrong with the database because I saw a possible data problem here. They told us that for some unknown reasons it could happen that a client needs more time to get an update. Not really a clear answer. But it didn’t happen again (as far as I know). bye André

Michael, André, which Client and Server Version was it happened with? (My version was 3.60 Beta 2) I have had a similar problem (nice to hear that others a facing this, too. I thought by myself I am crazy now). Even a ‘Re-login’ on that special workstation did not ‘forced’ an update. Screenshots were made for the X-file that time because noboby would beleive it anyway and would say ‘Don’t drink that much beer anymore, please’. If you are interested I will have a look in my X-files and tell you the whole story. However, I am really concerned about what would actually happen if you - post something (e.g. posting ledger entries twice?) - are e.g. writing reminders on already payed invoices - running e.g. year end reports etc. In my case it was not that serios. But if it happend once it can happen again. And ‘…for some unknown reason…’ is a really poor statement (ah, yes, I see, the answer came from the German HQ…) Regards Walter
