Dear all,

  1. I am get this error message “There is nothing to plan.” while creating a production order from sale order planning…

  2. same error message appeared while running Mrp.

is there any setup missed out…?

can any one help me on this .

Are you trying this on Cronus? If so what is the item?

If not set up a brand new item and load a sales order, then plan.

With your current one do you have stock of the item?

Are you talking about the planning directly from the sales order or are you talking about the order planning option from the order processing menu?

Hi Ram,

it isn’t possible to create purchase order directly from the sales order. Instead you can use the Requisition Worksheets in Purchase/Planning menu.

In that worksheets you should use differrent function depending on the Purchasing Code you select in the sales order lines:

  • Drop Shipment: you can use function Drop Shipment → Get Sales Orders
  • Special Order: function Special Order → Get Sales Orders
  • no Purchasing Code used: just use Calculate Plan in this case the result depends on the parameter you set in the item card

You could also create manually the purchase order header and specify the Sell-to Customer No. and Ship To Code in the Shipping tab of the header, then you can find the same first two function listed above in the Order button.

So you have loaded a sales order and when you go to Sales & Marketing - Order Processing - Order Planning and select Functions and calculate plan you are saying it does not show? So what are your item settings? How about loading an order for 80208-T in Cronus, that one works as I have just done it!

Thanks for reply,with order planning i am able to generate purchase order but not with sales order planning.

And how are you trying to achieve this? Can you tell me the menu options you are selecting to get nothing to plan with sales order planning?

i have created one item with replenishment method purchase .Create a sale order using same item,plan the sale order

order > Planning > this direct u to sales order planning, in that function create production order .

u will get the error message as there is nothing to plan.

Because of this i have started using Order planning menu to plan the order.

In Raw materials item card or Finished goods item I will select “Replenishment System must be Prod. Order on the Item card”

well Mr. Patty has provided u the correct solution. Try to follow that solutions in Cronus you will get ur result.

You cannot create Purchase order from sales order through planning , it is meant only for creating Prod. order if ur replenishment system is Prod. Order.
