Testing US Version of Nav Attain on SQL 2000

We have a subsiduary in the USA, and we intend to rollout Navision Attain there. We thought that we would setup a dummy test database on out SQL Server, and we get this error when trying to do a restore :- There are errors in the text conversion (text no. 1958-0 does not exist in the .stx file) Internal error 47-1 This is the procdure I am following to get to this error :- Install US Client 3.01A and the backup file for loading into an SQL database, onto my Win95 PC. Run US Client & create an SQL database on SQL Server (US Navision Attain) Open the SQL DB Restore database.fbk from c:\program files\navision attain\client into the SQL DB, and it immediately crashes with. Any help would be appreciated Zed

Anyone got any ideas at all

Hi Zaph, Navision Attain 3.1X series works only with Windows 98 and above versions. May be this is the cause of crash. Try with another version of Client OS and check.

Was your test database created in another localized version or W1? If it was W1, was it modified? There were also some language-related issues in 3.01A U.S.

I have tried it on w2k as well, and it still comes up with the same error. The database in question is the database.fbk file that is supplied with the US client. I have tried restoring the US database.fbk file onto my SQL server via the UK client, and it restores fine, but as soon as I go in and try to do some work, Bang! Same error again. Hope that makes sense. Zed

OK chaps, we have sorted the issue. There is a corrupt file on the US Client Install Disk called fin.stx Got another copy of this file, and things ran like a ‘hare on a course’
