Hi Forum, I have created a new routine in Navision using Tables 50000 and 50001 and its works fine. However when a user tries to run the routine they get an error saying they dont have permission for the tables. We are all using the same Licence and all have the same roles at present which are ALL and SUPER.
I know nothing about SQL so why can I run the routine and no one else can, could it be SQL that is preventing this. I know I have a different level of security within SQL as a while back I could not import Objects and it was changed. Paul [:’(]
Are you using database or windows authentication ? Have each of the users been synchronised - trying doing that with one of them if you are not sure and see if it changes. If that doesn’t work then I think it is to do with their SQL rights rather than Navisions
Chris
ps - It always helps everyone if you can say what versions of sql & navision yoiu are using, including service packs.
Hi Chris, thanks for the info, they are using Windows Authentication. I will get the Users Synchronized. If this doesn’t work then I will get someone to check their SQL Rights.
I dont know what version of SQL they are using but I put the navision version etc in the Subject Box. Paul
One reason for the different behaviour - users get error, you don’t - could be, that you have superior rights/roles on SQL Server site like db-owner or sysadmin … (I hope your users are not all sysadmin)
But nontheless: I also guess it’s a synchronization issue.
Hi Jorg, Thanks for your two cents.Yes I do have more superior rights, I know this because of the importing of Objects which caused me a problem in the past. The users are going to be syncronized first thing tomorrow morning so I will know more then. I dont know what rights the users have because I know squat about SQL and I didnt have anything to do with setting up the rights but I would hope that they do not have sysadmin. Once again, thanks for your input (two cents). Paul
I realise you put the Navision version on their so apologies for the blanket response. One way to check their sql rights if this works is to try and import and object using their logon - preferably without them seeing what you are doing [;)] Over inquisitive users can be a real pain - just ask our IT Manager about me [:D]
