At the solution center I work at we have been trying to install Attain 3.7. At the end of the installation it tries to start SQL server as a service. This computer doesn’t have SQL server installed (we didn’t think that was a requirement). When the installation fails trying to start SQL server it backs out the whole installation. So we’re left thinking that SQL server is in fact a requirement for Attain 3.7. Can anyone confirm or disprove this?
No it isn’t. What the installer does is to try to install Desktop Edition of SQL. You can do a custom install and choose not to inlude SQL and the SQL backup file if You have problems with that. Maybe Youre installing with a user that doesn’t have rights to start services?
