please help!

MS SQL Server 2005

SQL Database Suspect

error log: Error: 3414, Severity: 21, State: 1.

got problem step 3 command

USE master
GO
ALTER DATABASE BBI-HQ SET EMERGENCY
GO

here’s the error message from the query:
Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 2
Incorrect syntax near ‘-’.
can anyone please help me…

goto event log in windows Application Event Log with EventID=3414

i think When a database fails recovery with this error, the database status is set to SUSPECT. You will see this status in both SQL Server Management Studio (next to the database icon) and when you look at the sys.databases.state_desc column. Any attempt to use a database in this state will result in the following error.

thank you for the quick reply.

i follow this solution to fix the database but stop in the Step 3 command.

Step 3 command:

USE master
GO

ALTER DATABASE BBI-HQ SET EMERGENCY
GO

after i executed the command here is the query result:

Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 2
Incorrect syntax near ‘-’.

something issue on the database name?

DB name: BBI-HQ

please help me!

Try putting the name in brackets [BBI-HQ]
