Show No. 2 field on Items Page/List

Is it possible to customise BC to show the “No. 2” field on pages/lists?
It isn’t available under personalisation…

We’re wanting to use this field to store the old system’s item code for reference and lookup - so it’d be good to display it on the Items page etc.

Yes it is. Your partner or developer can help with that.

Hamish,
You may want to consider using the Item Reference No. table instead of the No. 2 field. This way it can be used when entering a document in BC, and have it find the correct Item No.

Thanks Ben, they’re transitioning from an old ERP which used alphanumeric codes for inventory and wasn’t sequential at all to a serial number in BC… I think it’s important for them to be able to look up Items using the old number, but they would prefer to have staff get used to the new codes quickly - they can look up the items easily using the descriptions, which are now beautifully standardised. I’ve gone for showing No. 2 at this point, but I might load the data into the reference table too, just for flexibility. Thanks for your help :slight_smile:
