Often it is said that Dynamics NAV is a much powerful ERP tool than Quick Books as the former has multiple management capabilities while the latter has only accounting capabilities. So, I wanted to weigh them on their accounting capabilities to decide which one is a better tool for accounting works.
ERP system is better than any accounting software.
Why you choose Dynamics NAV instead of Quick books ?
-
Dynamics NAV is a Complete ERP solution & QB is account package only.
-
Dynamics NAV is IFRS proven ERP product
-
Most of the business process can manage in dynamics NAV. (Finance module of Dynamics NAV can manage all kind of finance business process)
My most concern point , why you should select Dynamics NAV
- You have analysis part in dynamics NAV .
Analysis part ?
Dynamics NAv has “Dimension” (Segment) analysis facility. You can analysis your financial information using dimension facility.
EX: Location wise sales , Sales person & location wise sales, Department wise sales & expense,
There is no limitation of analysis facility.
My advice is it is good for invest ERP system rather than accounting package.
It will ultimately depend upon your definition of accounting capabilities and the questions you pose around this. Is Quickbooks suitable for the business over NAV or any other should be the first question - then if you decide you only need an accounting package you then decide on the requirements within that and the options available.
