Hii, I simply want to send SMS from navision. What will be the way to follow… Where can find components required? thanks

Look for a phone with serial cable and a program suite with an ocx which You can use in Navision. I think You can do this with Nokias “PC Data Suite”. Then just connect the phone to Your PC, install the connection software and start use it from C/AL. Havn’t done myself though… Otherwise I know Zetafax has some connection for SMS. If You’re allready using Zetafax that may be an option.

Programs like ICQ sends SMS through the internet for free. Maybe you can find out the service they are using and how that service is interfaced. I think there are cheap solutions available.

I know it’s off topic, but ICQ did not accept all networks, or better, the network provider did not accept messages send by ICQ. E.g. German Vodafone, Thai Orange, AIS etc. However, there are some (ICQ-)functions useable with the automation server.

Programs like Faxmaker by GFI (www.gfi.com) or Zetafax let you send SMS in a similar way that you send faxes, both with dedicated HW (a compatible cell phone or GSM card) or trough internet services. Hope this helped you

But that compatible HW You can probably use directly from C/AL.

Why not write the OCX yourself. Most modern GSM phones support AT commands. Then you just need to use MSComm to establish a serial connection. Then start sending the AT commands to the mobile. Who knows… Eventually you may end up with an OCX you can sell to other NSC’s. Nokia provide a list of AT commands for their phones on their website.
