Sell item with Batch number in AX POS 2012

Hello

I Trying to sell items with an item dimension that requires batch numbers. Through the POS, I could sell the item but it did not ask me for the Batch Number of the item. Also when I try to calculate the statement AX is prompting an error concerning the missing inventory dimension Batch Number Can someone please help me / refer me to documentation of how to use Batch Numbers with the AX for Retail POS(AX 2012 R2)?

Dear Prashant,

we are also facing the same issue, and when our Support team escalated this to MicroSoft they said POS is not supporting the Batch.

so remove all the batch or you can make sell order from sales and marketing and here you can select batch.

if you find any solution for the batch issue please send me also.

Hi,

In Product Information management ->Setup → Dimension groups → Tracking dimension groups , first you need to enable Batch number dimension.As it is a mandatory if we want to do batch number.

Check it once !!

I set batch number as a tracing dimension already.

But in POS system not ask anything about Batch no when we scan Item.

Dear Prashant , We are also facing the same issue , its not only with the batch but there is another issue with the serial number. We can sell the same serial number item twice from the POS. If anyone knows how to handle this please replay . Regards , Ganesh Sahane

Hi Prashant,

You have to enable Serial number control in tracking dimensions. Your problem will be solved.

Path : Product Information management ->Setup → Dimension groups → Tracking dimension groups.

Here Item only have Batch number as a tracking dimension. Then why we need to set Serial number control.

try using infocode as an additional information at POS. IT can be used as workaround. Faced same issue with AX 2012 R3 and tried the same solution as Microsoft AX does not support batch number at POS

Can you share more information on this. As you have mentioned, infocode can have additional information but there will be no validation over it.
