Segregation of Duties

I have searched the site on segregation of user activity and there is little recent or relevant activity on SOD which I am surprised by since it is such a regulated area. Do companies who use Dynamics NAV all manage this in-house? We are on 3.7 so perhaps later versions have some inbuilt intelligence, or perhaps there is an industry standard add-on that many company’s use (perhaps I am posting in the wrong group!). I am a system accountant and have always been surprised at the flexibilty that Dynamics NAV allows the user - e.g posting a general journal but actually posting bewteen customer accounts. Any ideas?

Well, there are some standard ways to control postings etc, but most people would probably get some development done to exactly meet their needs, for example, I have a client whereby some who creates a payment journal cannot create the bacs file export, thereby ensuring that a 2nd person is involved within the process.

You really need to define what it is you need, and then see how far standard functionality meets this.
