Is there a way to save screen and column layout settings that are in the ZUP file after importing a modified object? With many users, the fact that it defaults to the original settings is a pain.

I know this can be a pain but there is unfortunately nothing you can do to save the users settings from the subfile and then reapply them.

My usual routine is to get the users (after the system has been bedded down) to tell me what columns and in what order they want them.
At the very least, they will get a default that they have all agreed on.
You could then use the User Setup (add new option or link to a new table) to get specific user setups so that when they open the form they get their personal defaults.
That may be a bit over the top, best to just get the defaults sorted out.
