Hi Im trying to make a sales quote for a contact with type PERSON but 1) i cannot assign a sales quote from opportunities 2) i cannot create new sales quote unless my contact is a customer.
Please note that if my contact has a type COMPANY, its working fine.
Im using NAV 2017. Do you have any suggestions or alternative ways?
hi,
i think you cannot create a sales quote for a contact with type person,a person contact must be related to company contact.
i met this case before , i defined the type of all the contacts company as default.
Best regards
Unless it’s changed since NAV 2013 R2, then instead of choosing a Sell-to Customer No., you can set up (if you haven’t already) and select a value in the “Sell-to Customer Template Code” field on the quote. That gives the quote all the information it requires in terms of Customer Price Group, Dimensions, etc., that it would normally get from the Customer record and you should then be able to set the Sell-to Contact No. as a Person Contact that isn’t connected to a Company Contact/Customer.
Edit: I just tried to check in case my memory let me down and it’s wrong, sorry. It seems the Person Contact still needs to be connected to a Company Contact. However the Company Contact does not need to be connected to a real Customer if the Sell-to Customer Template Code is used instead.
