Hi,

Hi,

I need your valuable help regarding the Research & development.

Let’s say we have two companies A, B.

A is bulk drug & formulations company.

A is a parent company ( they will do production)

B is a sister company of A (they will do research & development).

Company B is interested to have the Navision.

Their main work is Research & development.

Once they complete the development they will inform to Parent company , company A will start production.

So My point is how to do the research & development in Navision using standard functionality.

Or is there any Add- on is available .

So what are the main elements of the research and development company.

NAV fits some, not others, depends upon the requirements of teh business.

Your questions is actually irrelevant, because it is the same for ALL businesses - you need to see where the business requires processes and information through the analysis phase, then you understand the shortcomings if any.

Whilst reasearch and development is generally a more flexible approach there are many standard aspects, it just depends upon teh requirements of the business, which is where you must start.

Also you can search teh add-on catalogue on partnersource if you want to go this way, but without understanding what the business needs it is again irrelevant.

I already explained it is formalation & research company.

for example they want to make a Tablet .

for that they will do research to get the tablet , it is microbilogy research .

that it takes one month , or 6 months, or 1 year …

so how to de all these scenerios in navision.

It depends wwhat they want to track.

You HAVE NOT given me the business requirements - what do they want to track, what are the key deliverables and reporting metrics, how do they want to cost time, are you setting projects/jobs up to track, do the business need it.

Ok , iwill collect the requirements,

but mean while i would like to ask one question.

sir , u already implemented navision to this type of company.

,ay be u know the actual proces about that research & development companies.

so just share your experience , how can you give the solution using standard solution.

or is there any special add - on is there which u already w orked on this .

No I have not implemented in a solely research and development business, but that is kind of irrelevant.

I will shortcut this. I will say “Yes” it works, now you tell me the problems you have mapping the business requirements to NAV and I will say whether you need to use standard software, modifications or an add-on.
