I have a DAX development team telling me that standard AX 09 can’t pull from the on hand inventory when a pack list has been posted. Looks like the default is pulling inventory out of the on hand after when the pick list has been posted.
Background:
We Are A Parts Department Warehouse
We use Automatic Reservations
We use the Release Dale Order Picking option to generate the pick lists when items in on hand
We have a perpetual inventory

Sorry I do not understand your question. You are saying it cannot take on hand inventory once the pack list has been posted - well it has been posted, what can it take? You then state teh exact opposite.
What is your issue and what is your question?
The parameter you are referencing I believe reduces the quantity on the picking list if the on hand does not cover the ordered quantity to the actual amount on hand.
Example: I have 5 ea on hand. When the pick list is printed the on hand is reduced to 4. We are looking to have the on hand inventory reduced when the pack list is posted not the pick list?

Okay the way this works as a procedure is to untick the parameter setting, produce the picking list journal and do not automatically post it. When the operative returns telling you that they have picked 4 not the 5 you amend the quantity and post the 4, then when you produce the packing slip you produce it based upon teh pick quantity.
You cannot have the system simply produce the packing list at 4 with the picking list confirmed at 5 - the picking list is the integral part of the operation here, so whatever is on this is what is shipped, for very good reasons.
