RAF - end-mark picking list

Hi Everyone,

Good day to all,

I would like to know if there would be a double consumption made if i tick the end-mark picking list during RAF. Well here is what really happen, the end-user has posted “start” status wherein it automatically posted the picking list (end-mark picking list not selected). When he tried to run RAF, an error occur stating that an item number is not completely release, but when i checked the picking list all quantity has been released, i dont know what went wrong, i tried to post RAF selecting the end-mark picking list checkbox, and it got posted, however it created another picking list. What i’m worried about is the created picking list means another consumption on bom?

Please help me understand the situation, by the way we are using AX 4.0, and we’re on Parallel-run testing.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

End mark picking list means you are reporting system that there is no more consumption to be taking place for the order.

For example: If you are producing BOM1 with Ingredient1 of quantity 10, and for the order you have consumed quantity 8. Now if you mark the End mark picking list then this means you are done with the item consumption and there is no more quantity for Ingredient1 to be picked for order’s consumption. Otherwise it will throw error at RAF saying that there is still quantity 2 left to be consumed. Hope this is clear to you.

Hi Kiran,

Yes, your point is clear to me, what my concern is, all qty of the item have been released when i look at the picking list, but when posting RAF, there is an error stating "item number ## has not been completely released."so what i did is, i tried to mark the end-mark picking list during RAF, thinking that this would mean there will be no items to be released, in this process the system created another picking list. This means i have 2 picking list posted, does it mean i have double consumption?

I hope i have explained it clearly.

Thanks for the info.

If you repeatedly raf production and tell it to back flush then yes it will continue to create journals as per you are requesting and have setup.

Hi Adam,

I only posted RAF once, and i have observe that when i tick end-mark picking list during RAF, all items that has been released during “Start” has been released again since the system created a new picking list journal, so i think, the only time i should tick the end-mark picking list is when posting “start” or when all the boms on Production order are not released when it started. Am i right?

Thank you guys for helping me.

Not necessarily. It depends.

Actually the End-marking can happen during Start of the Production order or during RAF.

All that you want is no double BOM consumption right? I hope you have consumed all BOM items during the Start of Production Order but forgot to End-mark. So, while RAF just mark the End-mark picking list and set Automatic BOM consumption= Never. This will post your RAF without any problem and also will not double the picking list for item consumption.

Please read through: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa496957(v=ax.10).aspx to understand why the answer is difficult to conclude in Yes or No.

Set the picking list to “Never” on RAF.
