Hi all, I have a problem here that i need some advice. We have a Production server at a centre about 200km from our office. We do not have the AOS license, but we would like to connect to the server there. Beside using Remote Desktop Connections, is there another way to do it? Kindly help. Thanks in advance. Regards, Ken
Hi Ken, What sort of connection do you have with your production server? Based on issues like latency and bandwidth, you can opt for solutions like Citrix, Terminal server and thin clients over Internet (HTTP). Generally speaking, with solutions like Citrix/TS, you tend to get consistent and expected results. Regards, Harish Mohanbabu
Hi Harish, thanks for the prompt reply. Anyway, i don’t really know what’s going on at the server side there. They just gave us the IP address to the servers there. What are the best way to connect to the server there?
Hi If you do not want to use AOS (you don’t have to upgrade to Enterprise License. AOS and AOS users can be purchased seperately), you can use any kind of remote tool, including dial-up.
We had configured the Citrix server (dual 1.4GHz MP, 1GB RAM) with 2-tier client. With about 10 clients running, the CPU loading reached 100% very often. We eventually configured the Citrix to run thin clients and it never happened again. 2-tier clients need to pull all data from DB and processing. This is the purpose of using AOS.
