We have some weird problems with Navision Attain Client only on one workstation and in some particular cases. Sometimes but just sometimes, the program crashes down on module Warehouse Management – Shipments, when the user is about to print the shipments. It happens unexpectedly, just sometimes with different shipments but always on that module with report object- function print. We get this error message: Application popup: CompanyName - Microsoft Navision Attain - [OT-04/0872 - Shipment]: fin.exe - Application Error : The instruction at “0x00491fd3” referenced memory at “0x02b31440”. The memory could not be “read”. Click on OK to terminate the program Click on CANCEL to debug the program WS is Intel Celeron at 600 MHz, 128 MB RAM with Windows 2000. It has Lotus Notes installed (if that’s important) and no other special programs that require great memory usage. There are no other problems on the machine with other programs. We tried several times to re-install the program, to expand cache, both on client and server, track processing with debugger, but nothing helped. We cannot figure out what causes this problem, nor do we have any idea on how to solve it.
From the error message, it looks as if it is a RAM problem. Try replacing the memory on this particular workstation to sse if the problem goes away.
Thanks, First we also assumed the problem is in RAM, but why the problem happens only during that particular module, in some kind of chaotic way? Our service department according to the chaotic nature of the problem threw away this idea. Could anything else cause this problem… like some settings in Navision, or client cache settings (which are set by default)???
We had such a strange problem with on our old NT clients. After rebuild the users profile it worked. Maybe you set up a local user and try to raise the error again ?
It has been discussed here several times that Lotus Notes on the same computer with Navision need lot of RAM. Maybe this helps?
Thank you. Do you have any suggestion for optimal memory capacity concerning our cuurent configuration: “WS is Intel Celeron at 600 MHz, 128 MB RAM with Windows 2000. It has Lotus Notes installed (if that’s important) and no other special programs that require great memory usage.”
