Procurement category on Purchase requsition

Hi all,

I created a product. and i want to create purchase requsition for this product. but in the itemid lookup field in purch req form this item didn’t exist.

After i added this item to a procurement category, the product existed in the item id field.

When creating new purchase requsition, it is not mandatory to add the product to a procurement category in previous versions.

In AX 2012 R2 if we want to create a purchase requsition for a product, do we have to add the product to a procurement category ?

It is driven by the purchasing policy(Procurement → setup → policies → purchasing policy). You might have Category Policy Access rule defined (when it is defined the system validates the product whether it comes under the categories that are defined in the policy) , this validation will be considered when the Requisition Purpose is consumption.
