Dear all,
I am changing length of the column of a table, I am getting following error message
“you do not have permission to insert into the loaner entry table”
I have rights of ‘superuser’. If I am doing change in other tables , it is successfull, but in this single table it is showing this problem,
why ?
Are you sure this table is in your license? Run the report license permissions on with the filter Object Type = Table to find out.
I have newly joined this company and I think its a customized table(newly designed table) i.e. not the standard table of Navision.

Do you mean:
-You changing the length of a column in a form
or
-Your changing the size of a field in a table.
If I am doing change in other tables
Are you doing this at random or are you aware of ALL the places in the system you need to make the change?
I am changing the size of a field in a table.
I am changing length(increasing it) in the table called abc (e.g.)
but the message ’ you dont have permission to insert in the table def’ is coming for the another table called def (e.g.)
It is very strange for me, cause I am changing the length in some other table and message is coming for some other table.
Please give me the solution .
What’s the ID of the table and field(s) you’re changing ?
Are there any table relations definded ?
Hi.
To avoid confusion;
(1) Please check that the table you are changing the field length in, is within your licence. (Try adding a new field in the table and saving the table)
(2) Make sure that the field that you are changing the length for, has NO links to the table name as mentioned in the error. (Check Properties of field and code)
(3) If someone exists; ask someone who has worked on the system before.
Sorry but this is all I can suggest.
It is our customized table(newly designed table) not the standard one of navision.
Tablerelation are also there, but with some other table.
I tried to add the new field I got the same error message.
Please suggest.

EXACT ERROR MESSAGE ----------You do not have permission to insert into the loaner entry table.
TABLENOS--------------------------------------- 5901---- Service item line (I am trying to modify) , 5914—Loaner entry (showing error of this table)
FIELDNOS-------------------------------------- 50001
Please note that If I am trying to do any change i.e. addition of new field, modification in any field, deletion of any field ,I am getting the same error message.
Maybe a stupid question, but I want to make sure.
What kind of license are you using ? A developper license, customer license ?
When you do this: http://plataan.typepad.com/microsoftdynamics/2007/03/permission_rang.html what’s the result ? Could you maybe post a screenshot of this ?
You will need a partner’s license to make that change. Contact your NSC.
