Hi All,
We have a customer that we don’t want to allow creating/editing journal entries, only posting them. We removed create/modify permissions, allowing the desired users to post payments and payment journals without allowing them to edit any of the lines.
We are trying to “post and print” in the purchase journal, but the user is getting the following error…
“Sorry, the current permissions prevented the action. (TableData Gen. Journal Line Insert: Base Application)”
This works with other journals and payment postings.

- Why would the insert permission for General Journal Lines affect this?
- How can I block a user from creating/modiyfing general journal lines, but allow them to post?
