Point of Sale Software

Does anyone know if the Microsoft Point of Sale software (Retail Management System nee QuickSale 2000) integrates w/ the Navision back end yet? I was told that it would, but have yet to hear if it actually does. Can anyone recommend a Navision compatible POS solution that we can customize to our specific industry?

Actually Microsoft initially had no plans to integrate MS POS with Navision. Look at this - http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2002/may02/05-19quicksellpr.asp “SMS QuickSell applications continue to be available as stand-alone solutions.” What have you heard about the topic?

I spoke w/ someone at MS via the web, and asked if it was integrated into Navision yet? They were unsure if it was available yet. I asked if it was coming and they said “yes, it was”. My Navision “dealer” is also under this impression, and is also investigating the details. I was hoping to find someone who knew for sure, yes or no, it is, or it isn’t. According the the link they were planning on doing a Great Plains Integration, but this was also before they purchased Navision. SO who knows what they’re plans are. I have heard, and read about full integration into the Great Plains backend, so I know THAT works. Anyone else with a comment?

Hi! We have a business partner who provides a Navision compatable POS solution in the UK, which is operational. I’ll pass this on to our contact here & see if they can help. Cheers!

There is also a POS called InfoStore is compatable and programable with Navision. We are running Navision Attain 3.01.B with this POS software. It was devolped in Iceland for Navision. A company called WATTS UP found it for us. The Phone number for WATTS UP is USA 914-944-1600 ask for Doug Ruskin or Paula.

Does anyone here use the Microsoft Retail Management System? It seems that it isn’t so popular amongst users…Is there a reason for this? Thx
