Hi,
In Ax we have option to give variable/fixed scrap in BOM , scrap percentage in route and also manual scrap input while posting the route card journal. Finally while completing the production we can use either scrap account / allocation method for costs.
Where we can see how much is the scrap quanitiy incurred for the production?
In which warehouse the scrap quantity goes?
The “scrap” “goes” no where. Scrap is additional stock etc removed from the system. If you have entered these figures in on the BOM for example then the expected quantity is already calculated with the scrap figure included. If you are utilising the scrap allocation method of account for costs, you will see them there. I suggest you load a simple scrap factor on a BOM to see what it does as you seemto misunderstand this concept, then ask further questions.
Unfortunately, AX consider scrap is when you have to consum more material than you need for a production order.
Therefore if you want to process the scrap afterwards (selling the scrap for example), it is not possible with standard AX.
Some points that you may want to consider:
-
If you have an item id for scrap (other than the material id), you may add a “negative” line into the production order BOM. This helps with the quantity, but you need to be carefull with financial aspects.
-
Considering Co-product and By-product add-on.
Hope this help.
