Phantom BOM

Hi all,

what is meant by Phantom BOM.

How can we use this Phantom BOM in Production process.

Please elaborate this issue with suitble with some values example if possible.

tht means if any expert define with practical expample , it is easy to understand to me.

  1. You make bicycles.
  2. The saddle assembly is a sub-assembly
  3. You never stock the saddle
  4. The saddle is only ever made when a bicycle is made
  5. You do not want to raise a works order for the seat assembly.
  6. You want all of the components of the saddle assembly to appear when making the bicycle, so the saddle assembly item is a Phantom (Production BOM) to allow NAV to blow through the saddle level and add teh components to the bicycle BOM, usually linked to the saddle assembly routing steps and work centres.

Basically the concept of Phantoms is NOTHING to do with NAV, it is a standard manufacturing concept, so if you do not understand it you do not understand this element of manufacturing, not NAV.
