Hi guys I was wondering if anyone knows of a way of integrating a PDF-Writer into Nav or some other way of solving my problem. Our customer wants to be able to E-Mail there Sales Quotes etc. as attachments. They must look exactly the same as when they are printed and they must be able to do this from inside Nav (ie. instead of clicking PRINT, they click on E-MAIL). I thought of the PDF-Writer thing set up as a printer, but I have no idea how to automate the whole process of saving the doc to disk and then attaching it to the E-Mail. Any ideas are welcome [:D] Regards Brad
Have you searched here or on www.mibuso.com ? There a quite a lot of solutions for this.
I’m busy searching on Mibuso now… haven’t searched here yet (sorry, I suppose that I should’ve done that first). Thanks Brad
We are using the (quite cheap) ZEON PDF, because there we can define what file name to write to and even select if the PDF should be shown or not. These settings can be changed in the registry to do an unattended mass mailing or something similar.
you could also search directly here, try searcing for “pdf mail”, in fact you might find too many topics with information [;)] There are a couple of solutions, we have been using pdfmailer and is really working fine. This topic might give you a start: http://www.mbsonline.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10061&SearchTerms=pdf,mail Saludos Nils
Thanks guys, I’ll look into it and get back to you. Regards Brad
We created an add-on for this purpose that has been doing very well. You can check out the product at http://www.altusbusinesssolutions.com.
Click on my signature. We created a simple solution SendX. We’ve sold this one to partners all over the world and they keep buying it for there customers. It does work in Navision and the customer can use it in other office applications.
Nils, I looked at the thread you mentioned (http://www.mbsonline.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10061&SearchTerms=pdf,mail), but the site http://www.milldyk.co.uk now requires a username and password. If you could perhaps get hold of the files pdfmailer.zip and maxxpdfmailer.zip and send them to me I’d really appreciate it. Thanks Brad
I should have those files somewhere… let me dig a little bit and I’ll send them over… Saludos Nils
ok, managed to upload the files to the download section… hope it helps! http://www.mbsonline.org/forum/file_library.asp?showmethefile=39&thatcat=14&thiscat=Member-to-Member+Samples+and+Software Saludos Nils
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/ Free of charge. Also has a com interface. Haven’t tried that one though.
