It’s possible to make an ODBC connection with the Navision database and some tables can be updated. But SQL has problems with dashes and spaces in tablenames and columnnames. Is there a way to get around this or is it possible to rename the tables/columns. F.J. Tóth
Hi, There is a whole thread on this on the http://www.mynavision.net forum. Basically the situation is… 1. If using the Navision ODBC connection use the translation options to convert spaces etc. 2. If using the SQL driver then either create views / stored procedures to do the work OR rename the tabels / fields in the Database and spend hours renaming the code !! Bruce
Beside setting the character translation to “A-Z,a-z,0-9” on the options page of the ODBC connection (works best with SQL to our experience), be sure you work with the ODBC driver that comes with NF 2.6 (incl. HotFixes). 2.5 and earlier are known to have problems. We have used the ODBC connection with several 2.6 systems, for direct access (C/Side DB) and with an JDBC-ODBC Bridge (i.e. for a “WebShop Lite” application, but also for a heavy duty connection in an SQL application for the largest supplier of internet routers and equipment(yes, that company!)) Hi,
URGENT : could somebody give me a link to download the version 3.6 of the ODBC driver ?
The retailer does not exist any more and he left nothing to us !
Thanks
