New to Dynamics D365 F&O

We implemented Dynamics 365 f&o three months now. We did an all module roll out and it went pretty smooth except for a few hiccups.

I would like to chat with folks with experience in this product and find out best practices for

  1. security set up
  2. how to optimally use usage data
  3. best practices for set up and config
  4. promotion process
  5. DevOps and how to best utilize it for the promotion approval process

Any input and direction will be appreciated.

Wanted to also find out if there are any D365 F&O user group conferences coming up in the Chicago area. Want to chat with folks about a few things related to our implementation.

I use Dynamics 365 in my project. For best practices, I focused on security setup, optimizing usage data, and following Microsoft’s configuration guidelines. I used the ODBC driver for Dynamics 365 to simplify data integration, and it worked well.

Sounds like a solid rollout — even smoother ones usually come with a few bumps!

Happy to connect and share what’s worked well for others around security setup, usage data, DevOps flows, and promotion processes. These areas often need fine-tuning post go-live, so you’re asking at the right time.

Also, there are usually some D365 meetups around Chicago — worth checking out for peer chats. Let me know if you’d like help digging those up!
