New language implementation in Axapta

Hi All, [:)] I want Axapta lookup in a new language for which .ktd and .kti file is not available. For example I want whole lookup of Axapta in Hindi but for hindi .ktd and .kti file is not specified. Hindi language is defined in the Axapta 3.0 SP1 (in new lable , language file wizard) with code ‘hi’. Please tell me that can it be implemented. Thanks [:)]

Hi First I would go to Microsoft asking for a Hindi KTD file. You do not need a KTI file, as this is only the index for it and will be created when the language is used the first time. If Microsoft has no Hindi KTD file, you will have to make one your own ?!? → you can start with axsysen-gb.ktd and copy it to axsyshi.ktd. Then, open it with a text editor and start… Of course, the more secure way is to wait for Microsoft.

Hi Helmut, Regarding copying and modify the file is Ok. But will it show up as a language in the Axapta Configuration Utility to select the Hindi/Other Interface. My question is: If ‘hindi-in’ or similar isn’t available in Axapta Configuration Utility to select the language in which the Interface to be opened, is there any way you can add the same. We have ‘en-us,en-za…’ etc, how to add for example ‘hindi-in’. I believe its through Microsoft cooperation but are there any alternative ways? Regards

Hi The first time you start Axapta with the parameter -language=hi, it will be available afterwards. Next problem: you will not be able to use your language unless you have a license for Hindi Language from Microsoft. The language license is checked from Axapta 3.0 on.

Hi Helmut ,

Our company has license for polish language but the language option is not displayed for users to use (tools–>option–>language) this is in AX 4.0.

When i try to run -language=PL (for polish) using AX-configuration utility and when i start my AX-client i get the message "Microsoft Dynamics Installation has no text files(axsysPL.ktd).

How can i create a .ktd file and how can i display the polish lang both in language and help text for users.

Thanks in advance for all the help
