What is the relationship between Work Centre (in Basic Module) & Asset Code (in Fixed Asset) ? How to define the following hierarchy alo Company --ABC Company Ltd | |__ Plant – ABC ( Virtual Item) 0| 0|__ Area – XYZ Area ( Virtual Item) 00| 00|__ Tag – 101-AB Primary Reformer ( its a asset) 000| 000|__ Equipment – 101-AB-PM Pump 000 __ – 101-AB-MT Motor should I’ve to define Primary Reformer as Work Centre or Asset? Need help urgently, Thanks in advance

Hi Srinivasan! There is no relationship between work center (or work center group) and fixed asset number. Of course you can define the work center type as machine or tool; however it is not referring to any fixed asset group or number. SO IT IS AS DESCRIPTION ONLY. So you can define the 101-AB as work center group and its childs as the work centers. In this case you can’t track your fixed asset transactions (Acquisition, disposal, depreciation etc) as it is only a description. For the company you can setup in the company information. In case your company has many branches then you define them in the company accounts. In case your branches are located across many areas/countries then use the domain tab. for each company account, if certain plant is in a certain area then you can combine them because the plant is in that area using the dimension. So the area will refer to the plant. Or you can use plant as the dimension instead of area. In case you want to track your fixed asset transactions then define them as fixed asset. Like the following: For 101-AB Primary Reformer, you define it as fixed asset group. and 101-AB-PM Pump and 101-AB-MT-Motor as fixed asset for the above group. Hope this help!

You can write some code so that you can create work centre as a fixed asset as well. For our development of a solution we have done that. Regards, Anuj
