Is there a difference between navision and navision attain ? if so, what r they in terms of functionality, technology and from the technical view. Pros and cons of each ?
Do you mean the differences between navision 3.60 and 3.70 or earlier attain version. With every new version, a change document is supplied. It should be available at partnersource.
Attain is just one of the many names that Navision has had. Take a look at this thread. http://www.mbsonline.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15280&whichpage=1 Generally in terms of difference, the Navision is not significant, look more to the version number. Obviously each newer version has more features. marq, since this is in the beginers forum, I am guessing this is what masqazi is asking.
Yes, I think you are right.[^] This is what happens if you keep changing product names [:D]
But we do love it don’t we? [:D]
so it means Navison and Navision Attain are one and the same…the naming difference is like MBS Navision and Dynamics NAV and nothing more !!! comments expected …
Yes, that’s it. The name of the product changes every 2 or 3 versions [;)] But the basic structure has been the same for the past 10 years or so, and even before that there was the DOS version, in which you can find similair functions to the Windows version, but David knows more about this I think.[8D]
The DOS version was basically the same. The only real change is the use of Value and detail entries. Masqazi take a look at that other thread. http://www.mbsonline.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15280 One thing that has given Navision such a great following, is that the basic design has not changed since the release of the 4 GL IDE in version 3.00 DOS for users this has meant a very easy upgrade path. In the DOS version, you go to the GL, select a balance, press F6, hit Navigate, SHow, and the original posted invoice pops up, just like today. Mind you its a lot more work to Navigate the product names.
