Navision Configuration file

Hi Guys,

I am a beginner to Dynamics Nav. I want to know the location and the name of the Dynamics Nav configuration file. Any help is much appreciated.

Hello & welcome to forum!

Which version are you on and which type of client - Classic or RTC?

If you mean user settings “config file” (where every user’s own layout settings are saved, plus some other things, as last DB & Company connected), it’s located at username/Application Data/fin.zup. The name may be different (if set up as parameter in shortcut target, like this: ID=JohnBrown ), but the extension should be .ZUP

Location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\Service

File name is :CustomSettings

Hi Guys,

Thank you for your quick responce . We are on Nav version 5 and use the classic client. The problem I have is Nav budget screen is slow to load first time and when accessing it after a pause, once it loads it is quick, i guess this might me due to caching. We have installed Navision SQL Database (SQL Server 2005) in a data center in Amsterdam and the clasic client in our citris server in London. Latency between London and Amsterdam data center is very minimal.

I am trying to see if there is a way to increase the network packet size in Nav and improve the performance of the initial load or the cache refresh speed. I want to know like in SQL Server 2005 if there is a setting in Navision configuration file, to change the network packet size.
