Navision Client not able to connect to the SQL Database which is located in some other computer..

Hi Friends,

I am not able to logon to the Database using my Navision Client (finsql)… the database is located in other machine… it is showing unable to find Server… whereas other persons in the network are able to connect…

By default SQL server does not allow other computers to connect to it. To change this you need to run SQL Server Surface Area Configuration, and in Database Engine enable Local and remote connection.

Thanks for the response Rashed…

But other clients are able to log in…also i was able to login some days back… it suddenly stopped recognising server…

Can you ping the ip address?

Yea i am able to ping the PC which is having the Database… but i am not able to log in in the database… it says server not found…

make sure net type is tcp/ip. Make sure you are running finsql.exe and not fin.exe Try to enter the IP address in the server Name.
