Navision 2013 User Personalization

I am working in Navision 2013 R2 from previous some days and feels a little bit annoying when i have to assign the users with some particular permissions.

I want that the user with the permission only for sales can view the menu suite that is assigned to the Sales department.

In navision 2009 this is a piece of cake that just assign the menu suite for the particular users but i didn’t find this type of mechanism in 2013 R2 or i am missing something

It s not possible as we used to do in Classic.

We need to create separate role centers with modules you want to have as per your requirement.

so what if there is no license for extra pages to the customer end

So there is no way if i do not want to create extra role center for the users?

And also that if i want to add extra pages and extra reports in Navigation Pane then what to do should i create a new menu suite but then it would be applicable to all, What should i do?

There is no way than creating new Role Centres.

Yes, you have to create new Menusuite (1090) and add pages, reports to it.

Thanks Mohana for this quick reply but if i add new pages and reports in Menu Suite then this section is not available in the list which i open to customize the navigation pane, Is there any way to do that.

Can you show us the screenshots.

This is the screen shot when i want to customize the Navigation pane and also i added the additional menu from menu suite but it is not here in the customization tab.

Do you mean you have added new Menu called Test under Administration and you cant see that?

in which menusuite did you add that?

can you see that directly in departments?

yes when i see the departments then i can see that group and also the responded menus that i assigned but when i m in customizable mode i can’t see it

I tried to replicate your scenario but I can see menus in Customize Navigation Pane also.

which License are you using? Do you have permissions to those pages/reports?

Yes there are menus in the Customization Navigation Tab but the newly created menu that is report section is not here.

And i am using developer license i have the right to create the pages and reports. So i think this ain’t the problem of Licensing i guess.
Simply i want to add my menus that will show in the list when i customize the Navigation Pane
For example i created a menu and a group also in department with the help of menu suite and as well as want to customize the Navigation Pane so that i can easily disable the menus as per role and user wise and restrict the user to use the Menus. but my created menus are not in list.

Hope this will help to understand my scenario.

We can see only List Pages in Customize Navigation Pane…

Yes this is report section so how we add the reports then? Or not then is there any other method so that the customized reports can be assigned to the users whom they concern?

You can do it using permission Sets.

You can create a group with specific reports and assign it to users…

you need to remove reports with 0 record from permission set before.

This solution is really very complicated because if i have to give permission on the report then firstly the user should have the read permission of that particular table which is going to reflect with this report [:(]
