I am goin through some nav training from customer source when i select the customer table and click design…I receive the error. “You do not have permission to run the ‘Design, table, Basic’ system. Contact your admin to have your perms changed.”

We do not have a developer license. Since this is a test DB is there any way to complete this training without a developer license, even on a test system?

You can check MSDN for a limited developer license.

Use DEMO license, instead of your company license - it should allow you to perform those trainings.

Trainings on CS are (were?) prepared for use with DEMO database + DEMO license, in some cases there was provided a backup of DB with specific data added for that exact training.
