NAV 2013 RDLC: Open Report Designer instead of Visual Studio

Hi everybody,

is there a way to decide to open Report Designer instead of VS? Without deinstalling VS?

Regards,

Jan

That is only possible in NAV 2013 R2. Not in the previous versions.

In Dev Environment:

change Tools / Options / Use Report Builder to YES

updated while I was typing, Erik managed first [;)], and he is correct saying it’s possible only in latest version - 2013 R2

Ok, thanks to you both for your reply. Side question: the reason why I want to do this is because I need to create a read/write variable. From all I found online this is not possible with VS 2010 but with Report Designer. Does anybody know if, when I would open the report with report designer, create my var as read/write, the report would still work in VS2010? Because yesterday I created a report with RD, created a r/w var and then looked up the RDLC-Code for this var and copied that code to my original NAV-Report. That didn’t work, though: I crashed my Report doing this. Any suggestions?
