Nav 2009 SP1 upload license file to SQL Server 2012

Hi
What is the difference in classic client with SQL between Database/Alter/Integration ‘Save license in database’ and Tools/License Information/ ‘Upload’?
Both operations upload the license to the SQL Server.
In my case I am not allowed as the user with role ‘SUPER’ to save the license file in the database.
But I can successfully upload the license file according to the second method.
Is it ok to use this way?

There is difference between the two.

  1. File / DB / Alter method saves license in currently open NAV SQL database IF you have Granule 2020 “License per DB”

  2. License / Info / Upload saves license in currently connected SQL server (instance) master db, common for all existing NAV databases on that server. This one needs more privileges, particularly, rights to master db.
