NAV 2009 License Upload error

HI

i am trying to upload Developoer license through finsql.exe,while uploading the license file,i am getting these error

““dynamics nav 2009 error programme license does not permit you to run this version of microsoft dynamics nav classic””.

Can you please Help me about this error?

Check if your Dev license contains version 2009 (6?) or Future versions granules.
According to message you get, it’s not included - you need an updated license file.

Hi,

It seems you are using an old license, which is not upgraded for using NAV2009.

Please check (use in old version and review the license file) if you have permissions for NAV2009 in license.

We are Microsoft partners,we downloaded the NAV2009&License file as per their instructions,

And the license file also showing it registerd with our company name,while opening that file with notepad.

How to open the License file?with Notepad it is appearing only company name and address,and other details are in unsupported format,which are unable to read.Can you please suggest.\

hi sir

I created a new database through finsql.exe,and created a company on it,while we are opening that new company,we are unable to get the menu tables like "“general ledger,cassh management, in the left pane”

Hi,

Open some older database (say navision 4/5 etc.) and then upload your this license and from there you can read the contents of license file.

You can’t download your license from partnersource, it might be the license which your company got from microsoft.

With the NAV2009 database, we generally get CRONUS demo license.

Begining of .flf file is in human-readable format, there you should look for Granules available.
Other part is encrypted license itself. There should be a supplemental .txt file, which has more info in it, but even in .flf there is

XXXX Navision version x.xx

which you CAN see in Notepad. If Ver2009 isnt there - you need to update the .flf file from MS

You need to Restore a backup file. Backup file have (.fbk) extension, go to your newly created database, Tools>> Restore and then locate the backup file (Search for *.fbk in your NAV2009 downloaded folder) and then restore.

I think you can check the contents of your license file, even before doing all these activities.

Dan, not always true - I was able to do it some time ago, don’t know if this possibility is still there in PS… It was in Partner’s parameter part, together with pending Support requests & oustanding Invoices…

We dont have any old NAV,we are now newly implimenting NAV 2009 in our office.i installed NAV 2009 with developer options,and after installing that i got a demo database,with demo database also,i tryed to upload the license file,and i got the same error.So,please suggest me?

OK , May be that is possible. Thanks for pointing that out.

But what I wanted to say is, the license provided alongwith product (NAV2009) is demo license, not the company specific developer license.

hi,ok,please tell me some tips to Install and configure the NAV 2009 with developer options in two mechines First one is SQL,FINSQL.exe,in second mechine is to be RTC.

Please sugest me.

It is NOT an installation issue.

Option “for Development” in Install routine only auto-selects different subset of installation options and has nothing to do with REAL development.

ONLY licese file determines, whether you have Dev access to your database or not - so examine your FLF file for presence of:

  1. version 2009
  2. granules for Solution Development, Upgrade toolkit, Partner tools etc.
