NAD Experiences

Hi! It looks like everybody wants everybody else to share their experiences first. Being the moderator, I guess it’s fair for me to start the ball rolling. We have one NAD client. They are currently using CA 2.60.B. They are an Industrial Automation reseller, and also perform extensive jobs installing controllers for clients. They do not Pick, and did not purchase that functionality. They do use the Returns. They use Payroll (what a headache!). We had originally installed US 2.50, and tried modifying it to fit the Canadian market, because CA 2.50 was not ready. By the time we were 1/3 finished, CA 2.50 was ready so we abandoned the mods and installed CA instead. Then came all the mods. Most of them were straightforward, and I had no problems integrating with the existing NAD code. Upgrading to 2.60 took a weekend. With extensive use of the Merge tool. Upgrading to 3.0 shouldn’t take that long, unless Navision really changed the code. I realize that this doesn’t help very much, but it does start a dialogue. We have not experienced a lot of difficulty with the NAD portion of the package. Obviously, if anybody has any tips they’d like to share, the users of this forum, and those customers thinking of purchasing this functionality, would find it useful. Don’t be shy!

If you are a light distribution company, still there should be no doubt. Buy Advanced Distribution! I know you have to buy at least one of the AD granules when buying the license. But still you have the option of purchasing more granules when needed. I agree, that the solution has some lacks :-), but still compared to have the NSC do similar adjustments/add-ons the price is very competitive. At my US NSC we have about 20 installs of NAD, both 2.01B and 2.60. Soren Nielsen, moderator Integration/Developer NOLUG

Hi Matt, I would be able to share my experiences if you can tell me more detail. I have implemented 25 user NAD site in 2.01b version in 1999-2000 and have gone through all the fixes and improvements to this Product since then. Let me know!
