Has anyone worked with multiple BOMs for a FG item? We are using BOM versions, and run an item on multiple production lines - which could require different materials (packaging for example - depending on which production line).
I would like to activate a BOM depending on the production line being used.
You cannot do that as standard you would need to modify NAV to achieve this.
Standard version allows only one version to be active at a particular time, and hence cannot change versio based on routings or workcenters, this required modification to standard code, and advisable to take help of your partner
I would not reccomend using Versions… Just setup different BOM (and Routing if required) per each production line…
When you deside witch line will produce - just change BOM No. ( and Routing if required) on the Line and refresh production order without recalculating Prod. Order Line…
You can do small modification to change bom and run refresh function based on change of some field… We did it for different locations…
