I keep getting this everytime someone uses navision through terminal services. It is filling up the Application log and would really like to stop it [:)] Detection of product ‘{00000000-0000-3100-0012-0000836BD2D2}’, feature ‘NavisionSolutions’, component ‘{BD2C6CD8-9296-4C75-AC00-C20D8C81F04A}’ failed It tries to install each time its run. Does anyone have an idea[?]
We got exactly the same problem when running Terminal Server with Citrix 2.0 together with Navision 3.60 W1 (exactly with the same error code as described). The installation of Navision starts every time. Did you get a solution for this matter from somebody? Wolfgang
You must install this manually! Don’t use the MSI installer for installing. Copy the files manually and manually register the DLL files manually.
Thanks for the reply. I talked to our integrator, and the comsultant didnt know how to do it I had a go at copying the info over, but not really sure what should be in the registry for the client install. Any help or guides on the ‘copy manually, register manually’ would be nice.
Maybe this is caused when Navision was installed before Terminal Service. Be sure to setup Terminal Service first before Navision. You can use the CD but before running the installer try to run change user /install from the command promt, run the CD then and after installation run change user /execute
We had this problem, and there is a fix for it, in a sort of roundabout way Install Navision via INSTALL PROGRAMS via control panel. Once this has been installed into TS, copy the whole directory off into another directory. Uninstall Navision via control panel, and copy the directotry back to the original location NB NOTE MOVE, BUT COPY. Make sure that u change the shortcut to finsql.exe and not a pointer at the attain directory. Hope this helps Zed
Talk to Your consultant again and say that Navision (that is Microsoft nowadays) has documentation and special installation scripts for Navision Attain 3.10/3.60 on TS/Citrix. Zed’s way of doing it allmost fixes it, but doesn’t help You with the company notes. Navision install script takes care of this. //Lars
