Modifying all forms

The company would like to place a shadow that reads: Thank you for business or Happy Holidays or any other message on all our forms. This is to be printed in the body of the form such as invoice or purchase order. The size will be very large and the the regular print will “print over” the message; hence the shadow. We want to be able to use plain paper for the paper stock. Is there a utility program out there that will accomodate this request? Thanks for your help…

Hi Skolnick, I have heard of an Adobe-product called JetForm. However I have never seen it in use, so… As I recall this product should some how be able to merge documents. How about creating word-templates that include your shadow-text, and then (if JetForm is able to do so) at the printing from Navision, merge the print with the template in question. regards, Alexander Pallesen

You mean you want a watermark on your paper. The best thing : preprint your paper … [8D]

We have a nice product, called SicoPdfPrinter, which, among other features, can create a preprinted virtual paper and save it on a virtual printer device. Then you can print your documents selecting the abovesaid virtual device as the printer and create a nice pdf file with your document “printed” on the “preprinted paper”. Anna

Thankyou for the info on the products! I found JetForm on the web and the product was purchased by Adobe. This may be good for me since I have virtually everything under the sun by Adobe. I’ll call them to see what they have to say regarding the shadow print merging with Nav docs. As for SicoPdfPrinter, unfortunately, I cannot read the languages I found. The Home page did not give a language choice. Do you have English for your product info that I could take a look at? Thx! Appreciate the help from everyone!

With pdfmailer you have the option of merging a pdf or watermark and printing the pdf directly to the printer. Not cheep do.

Sigh! You are right. I asked my collegues and they said the once planned English version is far to come, yet. A pity! [:(] Anna

I agree with Jan-Pieter de Boer. The simplest way is to have logo-printed papers. Everything else is much more complicated

You may want to check out www.trans-micro.com. They have a product called “Laser Forms Energizer / Check-Factory” which I’ve used in the past for this. They have product specific versions which include all of the forms for those software packages, but I’ve also bought a “generic” version as well that I’ve used with Navision.

There is a product called Amyuni (http://www.amyuni.com/index.php) which you might want to check out. You would for example print to PDF (via code) (adding the watermark), then send the files to the printer. Unfortunately you add the watermark via code, by merging two PDF documents (your printed document and the generic text with “merry christmas”). It sounds more difficult than it is. It just a couple of lines setting your printer, then calling the report with runmodal. So if you want to print more than one report you will have to add it via the code. Cheers, Gus
