You have to import the Item Master first then import the opening entries …please search on how to import opening stock…
You cannot “just” edit the inventory of an item. The inventory level is made up of the item ledger entries and therefore to alter this you need to create one to reflect the change in the inventory level. It is advisable that if you do this you post the difference from a dataport into an item journal and post the entry then, it allows Navision to do all of the necessary validation and not corrupt your data. Essentially you need two dataports (maybe one if you are a developer) one to export the items, then one to take the file with th eupdated inventory and pull it into an item journal. Both are very simple at this level.
Modifying item inventory can be dangerous since it’s related to item valuation. Be careful changing item quantity because it can make G/L adjustments.
Any other suggestion, because if I want to have an Opening Inventory, that way Iwant to edit or modify the Inventory.
I want to have an item Inventory, from fresh database. Hoping for your reply…and advise[:)]
As suggested you bring it into an open item journal and then post the journal, especially if this is an opening balance question.
