Migration of customer master from ax 2009 to ax 2012

Hi All,

To migrate customer master details what are all the tables data should be migrated, in which order should we migrate for customer master data migration from ax 2009 to ax 2012 using DIXF. Please suggest an answer.

Is that an upgrade from AX 2009 to AX 2012? If so why are you not using the standard data upgrade process?

its a data migration from ax 2009 to 2012, client has requested to use DIXF for importing and I need to know how to migrate data and which are the tables to be migrated and its order of migrating. Please suggest a solution.

There are standard entities for importing data. Choose them based on your need. (Example - Customer and CustomerAddress)

It depends on what data you want to export. Example - customer groups , bank accounts, payments terms …

Identify the list and include those tables in the export. It would also be difficult to do the mapping between AX 2009 and 2012 tables. You can look at the upgrade scripts to understand the mapping to an extent.

That is an analysis/data migration project in itself. Identify what is used, what needs to be cleansed, export and then transform where necessary, fill gaps and import. The fact it is AX2009 to AX2012 is not relevant if you are not upgrading and simply starting again, AX2009 could be any system, you just have a slight advantage that the systems are versions of each other. Dont believe you can shortcut this process because they are different versions, the same work still needs to be done.
