Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 - Shop Floor Control Module Licensing

we are in the process of installing Dynamics AX 2009 as a Manufacturing system and wish to use the Shop Floor Control Module incorporated with AX as a time & attendance system for our staff.

We have already paid for end user licenses to enable us to use AX but have now been asked to by our reseller to also pay for further licenses just to use the Shop Floor Control Module.

Does anyone know if this module actually requires seperate licensing over and above the user licenses required to use AX?

Regards

Bruce

Hi Bruce

Yes it does.

The standard users access AX, with Shop Floor this references the active shop floor users. This is used for time recording purposes. When you buy shop floor control you get 50 users with the package. The users are then purchased separately and are considerably cheaper than AX users. The concept from an AX perspecitve would be to have a terminal on the shop floor looged in as 1 dummy user, the shop floor users then come along and log in and this references the active shop floor users data.

Hope this helps.
