Dear All, To help the NSC Implementation team , i have a suggestion that ,the Navision Consultant’s who have worked on implementation develop a repository of re-usable components (Like the Study reports , MasterData Collection templates,User documentation etc) . This would be of help to all the new NSC’s in reducing their implementation time. Such a Repository could be shared among all the NSC’s. Suggestions or inputs from other members. Regds, Atul
Hi All, Nobody out there wants to help the new NSC’s?? Cheers navi_mbs
Hi, I am sure not many NSC’s would be ready to share it with you or other NSC these are proprietery material that the NSC has to developed on their Own. Most of the NSC use the On-Target methodology released by Navision which is available with your NTR. I guess you have to Buy them as these are done by another NSC themselves who are doing this for some time. THese things are the ones which distinguish between quality of the implementation. So I am sure you may not find an NSC sharing this information. You have to make your own!!!
Hi Prashant, I was not refering to any proprietry material developed by an NSC , What i was looking at was DataCollection templates for say Chart of Accounts / Customer Master/Vendor master etc. Schemas if any for entrying opening balances etc , or any such material which is reusable and can be used to reduce the Implementing Cycle time…( As the competitors vendors have by now developed a repository of such templates because of their longer duration in the industry). Cheers navi_mbs
Hi Navi mbs, I am agree with Prashanth.
hi Rajesh will u be able to upload such data templates. Please be practical, this things are proprietery and the employee signs a confidentialty agreement with the NSC. But if any one is able to provide it then i will the first one to take it… (hehehehhehehe) Thanks & regards vaibhav pednekar
Hi Vaibhav, Practically this is not possible.
Hi Rajesh/Vaibhav, Practically this is not possible. Do u think people having implementation experience of Navision remain in Navision!!! If they remain that is great!!!
Hi, You can ask your NTR to send you the “navision Analysis Methodology” tool kit. This will include the complete implementation information.
Hi Navi, what you are asking for is actually implementation experience. for queries on entering opening balances etc, you can get help from general topics posted on implelmentation/functional issues too. Although to be honest i feel the problem is that functional and implelmentation issues are not much discussed on this site. Regarding schema’s for chart of accounts (can you elaborate on this?) would vary for a business, best suggestion i would give for Chart of accounts at the moment is to structure it as per the grouping done as per the final balance sheet requirements or reporting and MIS requirements of the buisness. regards
Hi, I have got the Navision Ontarget toolkit , as suggested by few other friends , I think this would suffice the requirement . It appears to be a comprehensive set of doc’s . It would be some time before i am able to go thru it. Cheers navi_mbs
Hi Its better to contact NTR for such things. No NSC is going to provide such details. Regards Harikesh
Hi All, What are your experencies on suggesting back up strategies for the SME Customers as they do not have a exhaustive IT dept . Also in Navision i understant that i cannot take an incremental backup . Inputs from everyone are welcome. Cheers navi_mbs
Dear All, I think the responsibility of Implementation strategy as well as templates should be with MBS. As far as I know, there has been thought process going on with regards to this. NSC’s do have templates but for specific implementations and after using the templates, they might have had to do some minor or major changes to application or data. This is normally not shared. If the templates come from MBS, they test it with all scenarios and make the templates more generalized. The NSC basically has to use it as per their client’s requirements. Major factor in SAP’s success has been their rich database of methodology documents and ASAP Implementation Toolkit. I hope MBS realizes what they do not have and prepare that at the earliest. It really helps new partners speed up their learning rather than learn the “trial and error” way. Regards,
Hey All That was a great discussion I have ready from you all guys. I would like to state that, which all you guys would agree is at success of any integrated package (ERP) is implementation. All NSC has to master this. Yes but that does not say that NSC do not have to share their experience. Implementation experiences should be shared freely. Amit, Gandhinagar
