Location problem in purchase and sales..

Hi all,

One of my client having 4 locations and we created as a responsibility center.they have one more location which is only a godown.they use this godown only for one item.but using the responsibility center only they are purchasing this item for that godown.whenever doing purchase or sales for this godown item they want to update the godown inventory.So how can i tag this godown location in this case?.Here the billing address and material recipt /shipment location is different.Can I tag the godown location in purchase or sales line? my doubt is that i’m logging as a responsibilty center and location is already defined…If i change the location manually in the lines, will it creates any problem…?

If you want to sell that Item from that location you must do also receiving in that location. Are you following this procedure?

  • If you receive the item in another Location, when you’ll sell it, your inventory will go negative and also the cost will not match with the real one.

  • If you do receiving in the same Location that you sell, than is not a problem that you change the default Location.

Make a test in your test enviroment, and you will see that there is nothing wrong. Check the cost of the Item and also chack the remaining qty in stock after selling some quantities of that product.
