Local printing from hosted BC frustration

Good day

We have just moved from BC14 on premise to a hosted BC16 system. We used printer selections extensively in BC14(NAV) to set which printer certain docs go to.

Now we are using Print Node installed on our local print server and the Email to print functionality from BC which is unacceptably slow.

Is their an extension available which will provide direct printing from our hosted environment to our print server on premise ?

Most extensions are not available in South Africa or unavailable for a non Microsoft hosted environment.

What about IPP printing ? Our local BC consultant is happy to install a extension if he can get one.

Really surprised that BC16 has made this so difficult.

Hi Malcolm

I am currently working on a solution for this. It is a service that you install locally, which pulls print jobs from BC and prints them to local printers. It is being built with BC cloud in mind but I don’t see why it shouldn’t work in an on-premise installation. I would be happy to hear your thoughts on what would be required from a solution like this.
