LIMS Application

We are looking to bolt on a Laboratory Information Management System with product clearance functionality by lot. We are working of NAV 2009 R2 version. Has anyone got any experience in this area?

I work for Accelerated Technology Laboratories, Inc, a LIMS/Data Management software developer/provider, and we not only have experience with NAV2009, we are Microsoft Gold Certified Partner.

Here is some information on our current software options, and I would be happy to provide you with data sheets if you are interested.

ATL is a technological leader, particularly in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) industry. We provide world-class software solutions, consulting services, technical support and hands-on training to Fortune 500 companies and laboratories that are ISO, CAP/CLIA, ELAP or NELAC certified. As a developer of quality data management solutions, ATL is ISO 9001:2008 certified, a Microsoft Gold Certified Solution Provider and Oracle Business Alliance Partner.

In 1994, ATL pioneered the first Microsoft Windows-based LIMS with the Sample Master® product line. Sample Master® Pro was the first commercially available LIMS designed specifically to meet the needs of most laboratories right out of the box. Sample Master® Version 9 was released in late 2011. Today, Sample Master® and its companion product Result Point® are installed in 530 laboratories around the world, helping our users stay competitive by increasing efficiency and productivity, reducing costs, meeting regulatory requirements, improving data quality, reducing reporting time and increasing customer satisfaction. Sample Master® features include:

· A User Dashboard and modules such as Sample Tracking, Data Entry, Sample Scheduling, QA/QC, Electronic Data Transfer, Chemical Inventory, Resource Management, Customer Relationship Management, Time Tracking and LIMS Maintenance.

· Master Query functionality and the ability to export data in several formats including Excel and PDF, and to generate Electronic Data Deliverables (EDDs) with sophisticated web reporting tools

· Seamless integration with MS Office and other applications in a variety of network environments

· Integration with over 450 different instruments

In 2010, ATL launched TITAN®, a laboratory enterprise resource-planning giant that provides a complete business management solution well beyond the laboratory environment. TITAN® represents the next generation in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). TITAN builds upon almost two decades of laboratory informatics expertise to define a new standard in the LIMS world. In designing TITAN, ATL has focused on a number of areas that are very important when evaluating LIMS solutions. This includes a refreshing new take on user interface design that adopts core elements of Microsoft Office and also introduces an innovative tabbed document feature that makes it easy to work between multiple files and projects, with numerous filtering options.

Robustly adaptable and capable of meeting a broad variety of organizational needs, TITAN® utilizes Service Oriented Architecture and open XML standards such as WSDL and SOAP that allows integration with a range of external systems. It is highly configurable and feature-rich, with stable packages to support most industries. TITAN® features include:

· A clean, intuitive interface with ribbon-based menus and a tabbed-based workspace

· Wizards for new users and the ability to filter and re-order data based on user-selected criteria

· User-definable dashboards to facilitate business intelligence in the laboratory and beyond

· Full integration with various enterprise packages such as Accounting, SCADA, SAP, SAS JMP, etc.

· TITAN® Report Writer, a tool that allows non-programmers to design reports using a drag-and-drop graphical interface and the ability to incorporate graphs, images, statics, and reporting

· Compatibility with additional reporting tools such as Crystal Reports and SQL Server Reporting

With the ease and familiarity of point-and-click computing, ATL products are user friendly and can be rapidly implemented. Additionally, your investment is backed by outstanding customer service, comprehensive training programs, and responsive, live technical support.

Hi Stacey,

Thanks for your response. Have you had any experience applying one of your products in the dairy industry. We are a small dairy company located in Victoria, Australia and are having difficulty integrating our current LIMS system with our NAV system. I would be interested know if you have any experience in this area.

Hi Harvey,

Thank you for getting back to us. We do work with many food testing companies that test dairy products. Here is a list of typical tests that our LIMS supports:

  • Crude protein
  • Casein
  • True protein
  • Milkfat
  • Total solids and mineral content by reference methods
  • Enzymatic determination of lactose and galactose
  • Protein profiles of milk and milk products by capillary electrophoresis and cheese proteolysis are determined routinely
  • particle size analysis and fatty acid composition by gas chromatography and the oxidative stability of oils and fats
  • Rheological tests performed include texture profiles, cheese meltability and functional properties of milk products
  • Microbiological dairy food safety and quality tests are routinely determined, including tests for coliforms, standard plate count, Listeria, plus yeast and mold
  • Shelf life and microbial challenge studies are also performed

If you can share with us some information on your laboratory and data management needs, we can put together a presentation for you and your team. Thank you and we look forward to talking with you soon. Please feel free to e-mail us directly. We can also set up a Skype call on your time to discuss your specific needs.
